(The hit-and-run is kind of an “it’s not the band I hate it’s their fans” thing for me. Hell, even John Schneider got some love on Sunday by calling for a suicide-LET ME FINISH-squeeze-a bunt in an appropriate situation!-and putting on a hit-and-run for once, which always makes a manager look good when it’s actually executed properly. Add that to Daulton Varsho potentially figuring it out, Bo returning, Davis Schneider still doing Davis Schneider things, Ernie Clement riding some small sample weirdness of his own, and Vlad leaning into some kind of low rent Luis Arraez impression by cutting down his the strikeouts and perhaps accepting that his power is pooched-I still wonder about that wrist of his-and you don’t have to squint too hard to see a lineup that you might not even hate. George Springer has accumulated 0.8 of his 2.0 fWAR over the last 14 days. ![]() But the pitching continues to hold, the defence remains excellent, and some of the bats might just be getting hot at the right time. 500), and the Royals really let one… er, slip away there on Sunday. They’ve really only managed to seem impressive against weak competition (they’re just 38-42 against teams above. They could even have say the Aiel find it funny that they thought it could be a woman given that they have different arguable more accurate legends of he who comes with the dawn and then the show could line up with the book power/wheel wise and explain away either reasons why they thought other wise.Backing their way into the postseason isn’t where anybody wanted or expected this team to be, of course. The nuance and detail can exist in the setting without needing to present ALL of it to the viewer at once.īecause that would be monumentally fucking stupid, since shoehorning accuracy to the book based lore in later on would basically make 2/3rds of the shit they do in the first season of the show absolutely moronic in hindsight? I mean, lore accuracy to the books already establishes that the Dragon Reborn can not be female, since they 100% know they are looking for the re-incarnation of a very specific individual, who the literal laws of the universe dictate will ALWAYS be a man.How would putting the book accurate version of this actually be stupid? It could easily be explained away that Moraine and the rest of the tower just have wrong legends/records and they were using wrong info which already happens in both the show and the book. You seem to be confusing the concept of there "being" a large amount of detail to something vs how that detail is "presented" to the audience. Any competent screenwriter could have done exactly the same thing with the One Power in the show, keeping it lore accurate, with minimal need to resort to info dumps or large wads of expository rambling. Almost all of that was done organically as the story progressed. It started with the basic framework, and expanded on it in bits over time, filling in info to both the readers and the characters in the story. Like, I'm sorry, but do you think the book "info dumped" literally everything about how the One Power worked all in one giant expository session before telling the story? Of course not, that would be stupid. ![]() Either it requires a big chunk of screen time devoted to it or it has to be light on details and nuance.Nothing "has to give". So they have to do a super detailed and heavily nuanced explanation of the system but also have to do it with as little screen time as possible. The wonder, the war and mayham, the diversity and complexity, the charm, the magic, and one that actually makes sense, it's got humour and tragedy, it's a thoroughly entertaining and epic story, with an incredible build up. IT has all the elements in the original story you need. I thought by content, Wheel of Time would have been a mega smash hit, if done correctly. I think the show only appeals to a very narrow sect to which it is very popular, they can't have been serious about this shit challenging or matching Game of Thrones, even though Robert Jordan's book series was world famous and ahead of Martin's before GoT tv adaptation happened. ![]() ![]() Its just hard to look past that its actually Wheel of Time without being Wheel of Time lol.You and the majority of people out there, considering how much larger the bookfans are than the show fans, and how unpopular the show is. I want a good adaption, and if this show was not wheel of time I might be enjoying it. Maybe I am just overly nit picky, especially over the last few years. I just don't think I can look at the show the way others will want me too.
